Amidst the scorching sun and sudden rain showers of the Southern Vietnamese summer, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Can Tho City steadfastly labour at the martyrs’ cemeteries.

The Ho Chi Minh City Organising Committee for the Commemoration of Major Holidays staged an art programme titled “The Star of the Fatherland” at the April 30 Stadium, Con Dao Special Zone, Ho Chi Minh City on July 25 to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947–July 27, 2026).

The Ha Noi City Fatherland Front Committee and the Ha Noi City Youth Union jointly hosted a Candlelight Ceremony to honour the heroic martyrs at Mai Dich Cemetery (Ha Noi) on July 25, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Viet Nam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947–July 27, 2026).

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam stressed that every set of remains recovered represents far more than a technical achievement. It marks the return of a son or daughter to the Fatherland and to his/her family, the restoration of a missing chapter of history, and a reaffirmation of the country's enduring tradition of remembering those who served the nation.

The Military Command of An Giang Province announced on July 15 that the Special Task Force of An Giang Province and its counterpart in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia, had signed a handover protocol for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who perished during different wartime periods. The remains were recovered by Team K93 under the An Giang Provincial Military Command during Phase XXV (the 2025–2026 dry season).
