Accordingly, Vietnam welcomed a total of nearly 16.3 million international tourists in the first 11 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%.
In just November, visitors arriving by air increased the highest with 13% and those by land rose 8.6%; meanwhile arrivals by sea dropped sharply by 19.2% due to the impact of Typhoon No. 6 landing in the south central provinces.
Visitors from Asia accounted for the largest proportion of totalforeign tourists to Vietnam this month, with over 81%, and increased 47.6% compared to the same period last year.
International visitors from Europe, America, Oceania and Africa increased by 13.4%, 10.2%, 0.4%, and 19.8%%, respectively, annually.
In the past 11 months, foreign tourists arriving by air reached more than 13 million, up 14.1% over the same period of the previous year.
Asian visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 13 million during the period, accounting for 79.6% of total international visitors andup 18.2% year-on-year, of which Chinese tourists reached more than 5.2 million, up 15%; from the Republic of Korea reached more than 3.5 million people, up 22.3%.
