UN Secretary-General congratulates Vietnam on 45 years since joining the UN

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, sent a congratulatory message on September 20 (New York time), to the government and people of Vietnam for 45 years since joining the United Nations (September 20, 1977).

In his message, the UN Secretary-General thanked Vietnam for its cooperation and support for the United Nations’ efforts in handling global challenges over the past 45 years.

The Secretary-General affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of the United Nations and has made many substantial and effective contributions to UN peacekeeping operations.

He also expressed his wish that this partnership would be further strengthened in the coming time to promote peace, sustainable development and human rights throughout the world.
