The event also saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Centre for Trade and Investment Promotion Support and Hi1 Viet Nam Joint Stock Company.

The initiative is considered a strategic step towards developing a homegrown e-commerce ecosystem, establishing sustainable distribution channels, and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese products.

Speaking at the opening, Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, noted that Viet Nam is among the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in Southeast Asia, with an annual growth rate of 18–25%. However, he warned of persistent challenges, including high logistics costs, dependence on foreign platforms, and the need to safeguard Vietnamese brands in the digital sphere.

“Building a purely Vietnamese e-commerce ecosystem is essential for domestic products to win over local consumers and expand globally,” he stressed.

Under the agreement, Hi1 Viet Nam will operate a Factory-to-Consumer (F2C) model directly linking manufacturers with consumers. The platform aims to cut out intermediaries, reduce costs, and improve product quality, while also ensuring that data, markets, and benefits remain in the hands of Vietnamese enterprises, serving Vietnamese consumers.

Nguyen Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the Centre for Trade and Investment Promotion Support, said the partnership would combine Hi1’s technological expertise with the Centre’s business networking capabilities, paving the way for a comprehensive digital trade promotion ecosystem.

Observers say the move goes beyond a routine signing, reflecting a strategic vision to advance national digital transformation and build a modern, proactive and sustainable e-commerce ecosystem for Viet Nam.
