The victory not only highlights the outstanding abilities of coach Okiyama Masahiko’s players but also reflects their growing maturity in tactical organisation and match temperament.
Heading into the match, the Japanese strategist fielded his strongest line-up, allowing the home side to take early control of the game.
As early as the 8th minute, from a free-kick approximately 35 metres out, Hong Minh delivered a skilful strike that sent the ball into the top corner of the net, opening the scoring for Viet Nam.
The early goal gave the Vietnamese players confidence, enabling them to play more freely and exert constant pressure on Indonesia.
After several missed chances, Hoang Van doubled the lead in the 38th minute, capitalising on a well-executed combination with Hoai Trinh inside the penalty area.
In the second half, coach Okiyama made two substitutions aimed at creating a fresh breakthrough and conserving the energy of key players.
Just two minutes after the break, Hoai Trinh struck decisively in the box to score Viet Nam’s third goal.
In the 53rd minute, Hoang Van continued to shine with a beautifully curled effort, sealing the 4-0 scoreline and completing her brace.
Although Viet Nam created several more good chances in the closing stages, they were unable to add to their tally. Nevertheless, they maintained their dominance and deservedly earned a place in the final.
Earlier, Thailand had comfortably defeated Myanmar 5-1 in the first semi-final.
The final between Viet Nam and Thailand will take place on June 18 at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
