The ceremony was attended by Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and central mass organisations, and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, along with other senior officials and representatives of youth organisations.
Delivering the anniversary address, Nguyen Kim Quy, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and President of the Viet Nam Youth Federation, reviewed the organisation’s 70-year history, highlighting its role in mobilising and uniting young people in line with the country’s evolving development needs.
He said that, from youth movements in earlier periods to the “I Love My Fatherland” campaign today, the federation had consistently sought to turn patriotism into action and channel young people’s energy into areas where their contributions were needed. Its programmes aim to create opportunities for young people to develop while benefiting their communities.
In 2026, the “I Love My Fatherland” journey visited numerous historical sites, combining education about national traditions with community projects, practical activities and charitable initiatives. Activities included a flag-raising ceremony amid the sea and skies of Truong Sa and a journey to Luang Prabang, Laos, helping promote patriotism, responsibility for national sovereignty and friendship between the two countries’ young people.
On behalf of Party and State leaders, Politburo member Bui Thi Minh Hoai presented the First-Class Labour Order to the Viet Nam Youth Federation in recognition of its outstanding achievements in organising and implementing social welfare programmes that contribute to socialist construction and national defence.
The federation also presented the first Nguyen Chi Thanh Awards to 70 exemplary officials in recognition of their outstanding contributions to youth association activities.
The anniversary celebrations were followed by a youth music festival featuring popular Vietnamese singers and performers, including Hoa Minzy, Dong Hung, Vo Ha Tram, Erik and Hoang Bach.
