Speaking at the event, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and VYF President Nguyen Tuong Lam said the 2026 journey will comprise seven stages, beginning in Nghe An – the hometown of President Ho – before visiting historical, cultural and revolutionary sites in Hue City, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Khanh Hoa, Ca Mau Provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, and concluding in Ha Noi in October.
Each stage offers participants the chance to learn about the nation’s history, strengthen their love for their homeland, and take part in social welfare activities, environmental protection, and community digital transformation, he noted.
The VYF President stressed that “I Love My Fatherland” is not merely a slogan, but a call to action, reflecting the younger generation’s aspiration to contribute to the country.
The launch ceremony featured a flashmob group performance, a clean-up activity at Cua Lo beach, free health check-ups for residents in fishing villages, the inauguration of a volleyball court, a pickleball competition, and various folk games.
On this occasion, the VYF presented 700 maps of Viet Nam and 700 national flags to the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
