Party, State leaders visit and present Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children in special circumstances

Permanent Vice President of the National Assembly Do Van Chien expressed his pleasure at joining the central working delegation and leaders of Nghe An Province to visit teachers, officials, staff, and children living and studying at the Nghe An Children’s Support Centre and Social Work Centre.

Do Van Chien highly appreciated Nghe An Province’s attention to the care, protection, and education of children, especially those in special circumstances.

Nghe An currently has nearly 8,000 children in difficult circumstances who are receiving care and support in various forms. Models for caring for, nurturing, and supporting children are becoming increasingly diverse and suited to specific circumstances.

The Permanent NA Vice President Do Van Chien asked the Party committees, authorities, departments, agencies, and sectors of Nghe An Province to continue paying greater attention to children, ensuring that no child loses the opportunity to study, nurture dreams, and develop because of difficult circumstances.

For the children living and studying at the centre, he expressed his hope that they would always study diligently, behave well, stay united, and follow Uncle Ho’s Five Teachings. He encouraged them not to feel self-conscious about their circumstances, but to keep faith, determination, and dreams for the future.

Do Van Chien expressed his belief that, with the attention of the Party, State, Party committees, authorities, and people of Nghe An Province, together with the dedication and affection of the centre’s officials and staff, many children will grow up, have stable careers and good lives, and become useful citizens.

On the afternoon of September 22, Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, visited and presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children living at Da Lat SOS Children’s Village in Lam Dong Province on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2026.

Nguyen Van Quang presented 46 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children in special circumstances who are being nurtured, cared for, and educated at Da Lat SOS Children’s Village. The Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court expressed his pleasure at visiting the village for the second time, warmly inquiring after and encouraging the children, while wishing them a joyful and warm Mid-Autumn Festival and encouraging them to study and train hard to become useful citizens.

He recognised the efforts and sense of responsibility of the teachers, officials, and staff of Da Lat SOS Children’s Village in nurturing and caring for the children, noting that this reflects the humanitarian spirit and responsibility of the Party, State, and the enitre society towards children in special circumstances.

Nguyen Van Quang expressed his hope that teachers, officials, and staff of Da Lat SOS Children’s Village would continue promoting their love, sense of responsibility, and dedication, helping children in special circumstances gain better conditions for study and development.

At the programme, Tran Bao Long, Director of Da Lat SOS Children’s Village, expressed deep gratitude for the attention and encouragement from Nguyen Van Quang and leaders of Lam Dong Province.

He said SOS Children’s Village Da Lat was established and began operations in 1989, with the function of caring for, nurturing, educating, and protecting orphaned, abandoned, and helpless children, as well as children in special circumstances, under the family-based model of SOS Children’s Villages International, based on four principles: children, parents, family, and community.

Da Lat SOS Children’s Village is currently caring for, nurturing, educating, and protecting 46 children in special circumstances, who live in six family houses and the village’s youth house. The village is also continuing to support 34 young people who are studying at universities, colleges, and vocational training institutions outside the village.
