#Mid-Autumn Festival
A programme entitled “Lanterns of Love – Supporting Children on Their Journey to School” was held in Dac Pring Commune, Da Nang City, on September 18 to support local disadvantaged children ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is going to organise the “Mid-Autumn Festival 2026” programme at the Viet Nam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts, at No. 2 Hoa Lu Street, Hai Ba Trung Ward, Ha Noi on September 23 and 24.
The 2026 traditional mid-autumn festival market in the Old Quarter will take place from September 11 to 25, under the theme “Honouring, Preserving and Spreading the Values of the Traditional Mid-Autumn Festival”.
Amid Ha Noi’s autumn days and pleasant weather, Hang Ma Street is once again bustling, adorned in a vibrant array of colours in preparation for the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. With just two weeks to go until the Mid-Autumn Festival, the street has become busier than usual, attracting large numbers of residents and visitors.
A series of Mid-Autumn Festival activities in Ha Noi Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem Ward, Ha Noi) will run for about a month, from late August through the end of September, featuring a wide range of activities honouring traditional Vietnamese culture.
When Mid-Autumn Festival comes, while children across the country eagerly await the celebration, numerous children in many remote villages lack the chance to truly enjoy the festivities. To help bridge the gap in geography and living conditions, many schools have brought meaningful Mid-Autumn joy to children in the highlands.
The Mid-Autumn Festival of 2025 is taking place in Hoi An ancient town, Da Nang city, from October 3–6 with a variety of festive lantern shows, lion dances, lantern processions, and outdoor performances, offering residents and visitors a vibrant celebration rich in cultural identity.
In the lead-up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, Ha Noi’s toy market has become increasingly vibrant, offering diverse traditional toys rich in Vietnamese cultural value, which draw great attention from consumers.
On these days, millions of Vietnamese children eagerly await the Mid-Autumn Festival — a festival for children and a time of reunion and gathering which falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month annually.
In his letter sent on October 3, State President Luong Cuong extended his warmest wishes to Vietnamese children nationwide and those abroad, ahead of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.
In the hearts of Vietnamese people, the Mid-Autumn Festival is always associated with reunion, providing an opportunity for families to gather around the festive tray to admire the full moon. Therefore, the mooncake is not only a familiar treat but also a symbol of togetherness, completeness, and sharing.
An exhibition entitled ‘Trang Ta’ (Vietnamese Full Moon) is currently being held at the historic Kim Ngan Communal House in Ha Noi, breathing new life into the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival of the Northern Delta region and exploring how cultural heritage can be applied in modern-day life.
It has become a tradition that every Mid-Autumn Festival, the relics and cultural spaces in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter are colourful and vibrant with fun and entertainment activities associated with the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival of the nation.
