The team consists of Senchonghack Chaisavanh and Khamsavath Bounmy from Laos and Lim Mey Mey from Cambodia.
In the final round, OPEN TEAM presented a story on the theme ‘Markets along the Mekong’, conveying a message of cultural exchange and friendship among Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Through their presentation, the three students guided the audience through market scenes that are both distinctive and share notable similarities: Lao markets portrayed as gentle and familiar, Cambodian markets as vivid, rich, and full of vitality, and Vietnamese markets as bustling, linked to images of hardworking, flexible, and warm-hearted people.
The 2026 National Vietnamese-speaking Competition for Foreigners was organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations and Peace Committee, in partnership with the University of Science and Education under the University of Da Nang.
The final round featured seven teams from the University of Science and Education, the University of Foreign Language Studies, and the University of Economics (all under the University of Da Nang), along with Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Quang Binh University, Hue College, and the University of Foreign Language Studies at Hue University.
The team from Hue College secured second prize, while third place went to the University of Science and Education under the University of Da Nang.
Through the Vietnamese language, the competition creates a space for participants to interact and gain deeper insight into Viet Nam’s culture, history, and people, while fostering friendship between Vietnamese students and their international peers.
