The final round was held at the Sunshine Heritage Hall in Japan on the afternoon of July 12 and was livestreamed to the Digital Content and Communications Centre of the Vietnam News Agency in Ha Noi.
The highlight that made the final particularly compelling was not only the contestants' fluent command of Vietnamese but also their heartfelt stories about family, homeland, national culture, and their determination to preserve the Vietnamese language in a multilingual environment. The judging panel also praised the contestants for demonstrating confidence, composure, and emotional depth, reflecting the spirit of the younger generation of Vietnamese in Japan.
According to Pham Dinh Thuong, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Saitama Prefecture, and Head of the Organising Committee: “As long as a child still calls their grandparents and parents by the Vietnamese words; as long as families continue to converse in their mother tongue; and as long as overseas Vietnamese proudly speak Vietnamese at community events, the homeland will always remain in their hearts.”
A total of 54 entries were submitted by contestants from various regions across Japan. Following the preliminary selection rounds, the judging panel shortlisted 35 contestants for the semi-finals before selecting the 10 outstanding finalists to compete in the grand final.
In Category A, Trinh Quynh Nhu won the First Prize, while Doan Van Khoi received the Second Prize, and Kim Tra My secured the Third Prize.
In Category B, Nguyen Pham Huyen My claimed the First Prize. Nguyen Van Khang won the Second Prize as well as the Most Impressive Speaker Award, while Bui Trung Dung took the Third Prize.
In addition, the Organising Committee awarded a Consolation Prize to Nguyen Mei in recognition of her dedication and enthusiastic participation in the competition.
The competition also underscored the strong support of organisations, experts, businesses, and Vietnamese communities both at home and abroad for the preservation of the Vietnamese language. It is also one of the initiatives contributing to the broader goal of safeguarding Viet Nam's cultural identity among overseas Vietnamese communities.
