In his opening speech, Director of the China Culture Centre in Ha Noi, Zhang Deshan, said the event was organised to mark the United Nations International Day for Dialogue among Civilisations (June 10). He emphasised that through dialogue, exchange and connection, countries and nations strengthen mutual understanding, consolidate trust, and seek common ground, thereby jointly building an environment of peace, cooperation and development.
He noted that Viet Nam and China share many cultural similarities, adding that a history of exchange spanning thousands of years has created a strong foundation between the two nations. From meetings of scholars and men of letters, the exchange of books and classics, to interplay in folk art, customs and festivals, the civilisations of the two countries have continually supplemented and illuminated one another.
In recent years, Vietnamese–Chinese people-to-people exchange has continued to broaden and deepen. Cooperation in culture, tourism, education and the arts has achieved many positive results, creating a favourable basis for strengthening connection and exchange between the peoples of the two countries. The young participants in the programme all shared a love for the Chinese language and culture.
At the event, the delegation from the Communication University of China delighted participants with a variety of language and cultural experience activities, such as expressive recitations of Chinese classics and demonstrations of dubbing skills.
Youth from both countries presented cultural and artistic performances, dubbing demonstrations, poetry recitations and distinctive forms of linguistic expression. They also jointly wrote bilingual Vietnamese–Chinese messages of goodwill, contributing to enhanced mutual understanding and cohesion.
