Vietnam and Austria strengthen their friendship and cooperation

Vietnam always attaches great importance to the time-honoured friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Austria, and highly appreciates the achievements and positive cooperation results between both countries over the past 50 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, made the affirmation during his official visit to Austria, at meetings with leaders of the Austrian National Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some Austrian Government agencies.

The Austrian leaders also affirmed that Austria attaches great importance to Vietnam's role and position in the Asia-Pacific region, and wished to further strengthen the fine friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides assessed that political cooperation, high-level visits and exchanges of delegations have been regularly maintained, contributing to strengthening trust and creating a driving force for multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Austria.

The two sides agreed to continue working closely, while effectively taking advantage of the opportunities of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), creating favourable conditions for the exports of both countries, to access each other's markets.

During his visit, Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Austria (1972-2022) and participated in several activities within the framework of Vietnam Day in Austria in 2022.
