At the meeting, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi affirmed that educational cooperation is one of the pillars of the Vietnam - Russia relations, noting that the Soviet Union in the past and Russia nowadays helped train tens of thousands of officials and experts for Vietnam.
The Vietnamese diplomat suggested that Saint Petersburg State University of Economics continue to promote cooperation with higher education institutions in Vietnam, especially in localities where Saint Petersburg has twinning relations with.
For his part, Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics Igor Maksimtsev affirmed his wish to promote the student exchange programmes between Vietnam and Russia; creating more opportunities for Russian students to study abroad in Vietnam, thereby promoting Vietnamese language learning in Saint Petersburg, enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries.
