The event was attended by MoH Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and IUHW Chairman Kuninori Takagi.
In her address, the Vietnamese minister said that the newly-signed MoU will open opportunities for Vietnamese students to get fully-funded scholarships to study at leading training facilities under the IUHW, as well as pursue employment in Japanese and Vietnamese health facilities which are invested and managed by the IUHW.
It also enables the MoH’s public servants to join short-term training programmes to improve their capabilities in the fields of health management, health policies and social security policies, she added.

Under the pact, throughout the five years of cooperation, the IUHW will grant an annual maximum of 10 fully-funded scholarships for Vietnamese students majoring in community health, nursing, physical therapy, occupational diseases, health care management and social services, among others.
After graduating, scholarship recipients will work for the IUHW’s health facilities in Vietnam or Japan (arranged by the university) during a period which is at least equal to their stuyding time in Japan.
In addition to scholarships for Vietnamese students, the IUHW will support the organisation of short-term training courses for MoH officials regarding the areas of health management, health policy and social security policies.
