They also agreed to promptly carry out defence cooperation activities once the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control, with a focus on delegation exchanges, deputy ministerial-level defence policy dialogues, human resources training, and military medical collaboration.
In addition, the two sides will cooperate in UN peacekeeping operations and accelerate the completion of draft defence cooperation documents for prompt signing in the near future.
For his part, Ambassador Yamada Takio expressed his sympathies over the losses caused by the recent flooding in central Vietnam, while pledging active efforts to make bilateral defence ties more and more effective and pragmatic.
