The programme brought together representatives from two universities and academies in China’s Yunnan Province, along with six universities and colleges from the Vietnamese provinces of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, and Son La.
During the programme, students from the two countries took part in a wide range of academic, cultural, artistic, and sporting exchange activities. Discussions focused on issues closely related to education, careers, and the demands of society in the new era, including digital skills development, the building of cross-border learning ecosystems, innovation, entrepreneurship, career orientation amid digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
Speaking at the programme, Lao Cai College Rector Hoang Quang Dat said Viet Nam and China are neighbouring countries with a long-standing friendship. Education and training, as well as exchanges among young people and students, play an important role in enhancing mutual understanding, building trust, and fostering relations between the peoples of the two countries.
With the theme “Connecting knowledge, shaping the future,” the Vietnamese-Chinese Student Exchange Programme seeks to deliver three practical values: enhancing mutual understanding; sharing knowledge and experience; and generating ideas and forging partnerships for the future. In this way, each student can become a bridge helping deepen the friendship between the two countries.
Lao Cai College hopes that the programme will not only serve as a meaningful exchange activity but also open up concrete opportunities for cooperation in education and training, cultural exchanges, scientific research, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and activities for young people and students.
Through its series of activities, the Vietnamese-Chinese Student Exchange Programme has created a space for students from the two countries to share knowledge, develop skills, improve their foreign-language proficiency, and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s educational and cultural environments. It also provides an opportunity for educational institutions to strengthen connections, expand cooperation, and foster the friendship between Viet Nam and China.
