The activities were held to mark the 76th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-China diplomatic relations (1950–2026) and the Viet Nam-China Year of Tourism Cooperation 2026–2027.
The highlight of the series was the opening of the thematic exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh and China — A Journey of Friendship, Aspirations for Peace and Development.” Notably, the exhibition features a number of documents being made public for the first time, focusing on the life and revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh in China; his close ties with Chinese revolutionaries, friends, and people; and the process of building, nurturing, and carrying forward Viet Nam-China friendship through different periods.
The exhibition contributes to educating younger generations about historical traditions and fostering friendship between the peoples of the two countries, while promoting the values of peace, cooperation, and development; encouraging people-to-people exchanges; and strengthening mutual understanding and trust between Viet Nam and China towards a future of peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development.
On the occasion, the organising committee met and expressed its appreciation to witnesses who are overseas Vietnamese and who had met President Ho Chi Minh. The stories, memories, and documents preserved by the witnesses and their families are valuable sources that help supplement and enrich the documentary record of President Ho Chi Minh, while enabling today’s generation to gain a deeper understanding of his affection for Vietnamese people living abroad.
In addition, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site organised activities to collect, receive, and exchange documents related to President Ho Chi Minh in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The collection focused on accounts and recollections from witnesses, as well as individuals and families possessing information and memories associated with President Ho Chi Minh. On the occasion, Pham Gia Duc, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Yunnan, presented the Presidential Palace Relic Site with a number of archival photographs of Uncle Ho and China.
As part of the series of events, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace also introduced and presented delegates, overseas Vietnamese, and especially Vietnamese students studying in Yunnan with a selection of publications about President Ho Chi Minh’s life, career, ideology, ethics, and style, published by the Relic Site. The activity helps promote the values of President Ho Chi Minh’s heritage while strengthening cultural exchanges, mutual understanding, and the close bonds between the peoples of Viet Nam and China.
