The event brought together 15 Vietnamese businesses operating in the agriculture, handicraft, garment and textile industries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai highly valued Systeme U’s initiative in hosting the event, which will help to promote Vietnamese products to French consumers.
He stressed that the event is not only important to Vietnamese businesses but also paves the way for Systeme U to develop market segments for consumers who favour Asian products.
He noted with pleasure that more and more French people have shown their interest in Vietnamese flavours, through signature Vietnamese dishes such as ‘pho’ and ‘bun’ (noddle).
Therefore, the introduction of Vietnamese food and handicraft products, at the Super U supermarket chain, will provide French consumers with more options for Vietnamese dishes, he said.
For his part, Benoit Monfort, CEO of Systeme U Noisiel supermarket, hailed that the Vietnamese goods on sale at the event have high quality, which can meet the demand of French customers, who prefer Vietnamese products.
He expressed his hope that the event will help to promote Vietnamese culture and cuisine to French people.
