The gold medalists included Bui Yen Li, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung in the women’s under-45kg, under-51kg and under-54kg weight categories, respectively.
Vietnam also captured an additional two silver and three bronze medals in other weight classes for men ranging from under-54kg to 71kg, finishing seventh overall in the competition.
The 2012 championships, which took place in India from December 25-31, attracted hundreds of kickboxers from China, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Iraq, Jordan, Vietnam and hosts, India.
