Accordingly, Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Duong Chinh Chuc met with representatives of Vietnamese veterans living and working in Angola.
At the meeting, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc stressed that the Party, the State and the people of Viet Nam have always regarded the overseas Vietnamese community, including veterans, as an inseparable part of the nation.
He noted that in recent days, authorities at all levels and people across the country have organised a wide range of commemorative activities, including paying tribute to fallen heroes at martyrs' cemeteries, visiting and encouraging families entitled to preferential policies, caring for war invalids and sick veterans, and honouring those who rendered meritorious service to the nation.
The Ambassador also highlighted the profound significance of the 500-day campaign to accelerate the search, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers’ remains, as well as the nationwide live television programme "Sao Sang Dan Duong" (Guiding Star), held simultaneously in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and localities across the country.
He expressed his hope that Vietnamese veterans in Angola would continue to uphold the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers—loyalty, courage, compassion, solidarity and exemplary conduct—and serve as a source of spiritual support for the Vietnamese community in Angola.
Representatives of the veterans said they were deeply moved to meet with staff of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Angola and reunite with former comrades to recall their wartime experiences and military service. They said they felt valued and remembered, and pledged to continue upholding the virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers while supporting and strengthening the Vietnamese community.
At the meeting, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc and the veterans agreed to establish the Vietnamese Veterans' Association in Angola and designate July 27 as its Traditional Day.
The Embassy of Viet Nam in Angola will also coordinate with Vietnamese communities in different provinces to identify more Vietnamese veterans living and working in Angola.
Meanwhile, staff of the Vietnamese representative agency in Venezuela on July 27 offered flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh Space at the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela headquarters to express their gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation.
In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My and staff of the representative agency observed a minute of silence in memory of President Ho Chi Minh—the great leader of the Vietnamese Party and the people, a national liberation hero and a world cultural figure. He devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and the building and defence of the nation.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the staff of the Vietnamese representative mission in Venezuela pledged their absolute loyalty to the Party's revolutionary goals and ideals, to continue studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle, and to successfully fulfil all assigned tasks.
