Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai expressed his deep emotion and profound respect and gratitude for the heroic fallen, wounded and sick soldiers, families with meritorious service to the revolution, and those who made great sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the nation and the happiness of the people.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai recalled President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: “Wounded and sick soldiers, families of military personnel and fallen soldiers have made contributions to the nation and the people. Therefore, the government and the people must be grateful to them and support them.”

He emphasised that wherever they may be, the Vietnamese people always maintain the traditions of “when drinking water, remember its source” and “when eating fruit, remember those who planted the tree” inside their hearts. This is not only a moral principle but also a source of spiritual strength, connecting the community and fostering a sense of national origin.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai praised and highly valued the meaningful contributions of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Veterans’ Association in Hungary in preserving and promoting the noble traditions of the nation, carrying out gratitude activities, supporting and assisting one another in life, and building a strong and united community.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and heartfelt atmosphere, imbued with gratitude and reflecting the Vietnamese moral tradition of honouring those who made meritorious service to the nation.
