Taking place in Seixal City on the outskirts of Lisbon, the Avante Press Festival was an important chance for Portuguese communists, people, progressive forces and international friends, to meet and express their common determination to fight for a world of peace and unity.
During the three-day festival, a large number of Portuguese and international friends visited Vietnam’s pavilion and expressed their strong support for the cause of innovation and international integration, as well as the path to socialism in Vietnam.

This year's festival is a preparation for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the April 1974 Revolution of the Portuguese people, in 2024.
At his meeting with Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Head of the PCP's External Relations Department Pedro Guerreiro, highly appreciated Vietnam's active participation in the festival, to not only introduce international friends to outstanding achievements of the country but also contribute to strengthening the solidarity among the communist parties, workers and progressive forces in the world.
Congratulating Vietnam's important socio-economic achievements in the first months of 2023, despite the complicated development of the world, Pedro Guerreiro affirmed the PCP always strongly supports the path to socialism in Vietnam and wishes to strengthen relations between the two parties.

During the three-day festival, Vietnam’s booth attracted great attention from the Portuguese people, as well as international friends. Carlos Hortmann, a historical researcher in Lisbon, expressed his delight at many documents, books and newspapers about Vietnam.

During the festival, local people and international friends participated in many seminars and debates on issues related to the local political, economic and social situation, as well as the culture, security and peace of the world.

One of the most important activities was the mass gathering on the third day of the press festival strengthening the role and position of the Portuguese Communist Party, as well as the spirit of solidarity with international friends to fight for a world of peace and progress.
