On the evening of April 8, a flight departing from Yangon (Myanmar) safely landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, bringing home the Vietnamese rescue team after they completed their mission of supporting earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar.

During their mission in Myanmar, the Vietnamese army’s rescue team discovered 32 locations with trapped victims under the rubble. They also directly organised searches at 20 locations and recovered 21 bodies.

Notably, the team collaborated with Myanmar and Turkish rescue forces to save a 26-year-old man who was trapped under the rubble for five days.

Welcoming the Vietnamese rescue team at Noi Bai Airport were Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Member of the Party Central, Deputy Minister of National Defence; Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam; and Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
