In his address, Ambassador Bui Le Thai highlighted the proud journey of bilateral ties, built on trust, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. He expressed deep gratitude for Hungary’s support during Vietnam’s struggle for independence and its ongoing development. He affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership with Hungary.

The Ambassador also reflected on the historical significance of the 1975 reunification, calling it a symbol of national resilience, unity, and the spirit of independence. “Vietnam today is entering a new era of the nation's rise, with confidence, self-reliance, and national pride,” he said.

On behalf of the Hungarian Government and National Assembly, First Deputy Speaker Mátrai conveyed congratulations from Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly László Kövér to the Vietnamese people.

She congratulated Vietnam on the achievements it has made since the country’s reunification in 1975 and expressed pride that Hungary had contributed to Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification—particularly through its participation in the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) during the period 1973–1975.

Mátrai praised the growing bilateral cooperation, especially between the two parliaments, and announced that Speaker Kövér is scheduled to visit Vietnam in October. She also acknowledged the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Hungary and affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting their integration.
