Vietnam’s trade value reaches 3.05 billion USD during Lunar New Year

Vietnam recorded an import-export value of 3.05 billion USD during the nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) break, according to the General Department of Customs.

Data showed that exports were estimated at 1.47 billion USD, while imports were 1.58 billion USD.

Since the beginning of 2022 until February 6, Vietnam’s total trade value was 61.85 billion USD, down 10.5% over the same period last year, of which exports fell 12.7% to 31.26 billion USD, while imports dropped 8.2% to 30.59 billion USD.

The trade surplus during this period was 680 million USD.

During the Tet break, China was the largest market for Vietnamese exports, followed by the US and the Republic of Korea, while Vietnam imported the most from the Republic of Korea.

Vietnamese goods were shipped to 109 countries and territories during the holiday, compared to 80 recorded last year.
