VN-Index closes in green

VN-Index increased 0.34% to 1,154.68 points on January 5 in its sixth consecutive session gaining.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange dropped by 36% to 16.30 trillion VND (668.85 million USD).

The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 19 tickers gained.

Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of 420 billion VND, mainly selling VHM of property giant Vinhomes and MSN of conglomerate Masan Group.

The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange expanded 0.09%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market rose 0.19%.
