The index closed 4.46 points higher after gaining 4.42 points in the previous session.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange increased by 4% to 13.28 trillion VND (546 million USD).
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of 413 billion VND, mainly selling HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group and HCM of Ho Chi MInh City Securities Corp.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, rose 0.39%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went up 0.46%.
