Truong Cung Nghia, Marketing Director at Renso Foods’ East Coast branch, said that the company primarily operates in the food sector, focusing on processed food products.
The company was founded with the goal of introducing high-quality Vietnamese products to Canadian and global consumers, many of whom were not familiar with Vietnam’s offerings.
To date, Renso Foods has imported nearly 100 different products from Vietnam, the majority of which are sourced through collaborations with local manufacturers and suppliers, with the products packaged under the Renso brand. For its coffee, a Vietnamese specialty, the company imports raw materials and processes and packages them in Canada, Nghia said.
He said that his company has secured trademark registrations in over 46 countries globally as part of its plan to take Vietnamese goods worldwide.
Renso Foods has developed a robust distribution network and is actively engaged in processed food associations in both Canada and North America. The volume of imports has significantly increased, with over 40 containers of goods imported in the past two years.
In addition to the company’s efforts in connecting Vietnamese products to Canada, Renso Foods has also received substantial support from the Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada. Nghia expressed his thanks for the assistance, which has included guidance on both Vietnamese and Canadian import-export regulations, as well as facilitating connections with partners in both countries.
Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in Canada Tran Thu Quynh said that the Vietnamese Trade Office has focused on supporting Vietnamese diaspora businesses, as they are well-versed in the market and consumption structure within the Vietnamese community in Canada.
The Vietnamese community in Canada has been growing rapidly, creating a potential market for Vietnamese products. Through diaspora businesses, Vietnamese goods are not only entering the retail and supermarket systems in Canada but also reaching broader North American markets.
With operations in both Canada and Vietnam, Renso Foods aims to build long-term, strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and consumers. Renso Foods, alongside other Vietnamese-origin businesses in Canada, is playing a pivotal role in connecting the trade between the two nations, contributing to the more than 10 billion USD in bilateral trade value seen in recent years.
