VN-Index up 1.24%, lifted by property stocks

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose by 1.24% or 15.03 points on August 4 to end the week at 1,225.98, supported by gains in the stocks of property companies.

The rise came following a conference on addressing difficulties facing the property market held by the government on August 3.

The total trading value on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) rose by 6.84% to more than 23 trillion VND (968.2 million USD), with 343 gainers and 127 losers.

In Hanoi, the HNX ended the final trading day of the week at 242.41 points, up 1.1% from the previous session.

The UPCoM-Index of unlisted public companies also rose by 0.75% to 91.7 points.
