The project aims to preserve and foster the reproduction of the fauna and flora ecosystem diversification in the Long Khanh commune in order to serve the research and development of an eco-tourism site in the area.

The majority of the funds, VND54 billion (US$2.6 billion), will be dedicated to planting 73 hectares of forest; breeding monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas and other wild animals; building stations and grids, and purchasing machines and equipment to protect the forest.

The primeval Long Khanh mangrove forest has been under State protection since 2006, including the mangroves, dates, African mahogany flora, squirrel, weasels and bird fauna preserved within the conservation area.
