He made the remark at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in Hanoi on January 7.

Bill Foudy said that Walmart will explore Vietnamese commodities such as footwear, apparel and household goods as potential exports to its outlets in Canada, Chile, Mexico, China and other countries.

He added that the US retail corporation, Walmart, will assist Vietnamese enterprises in improving the productivity and efficiency of their business activities as well as enhance their competitiveness capacity in the future.

Deputy PM Ninh appreciated Walmart's attention to the Vietnamese market and its intention to buy Vietnamese goods for its outlets in other countries. This is not only an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to sell their products but also helps them improve skills and production technology, he noted.

The Deputy PM stated that Vietnam will create favourable conditions for Walmart to invest in Vietnam as its presence in the country will help boost domestic production.
