NA holds question-and-answer session

The 14th National Assembly held a three-day question-and-answer (Q&A) session.

The Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development; Industry and Trade; Home Affairs; and Information and Communications fielded questions raised by deputies during the three days.

Deputy Prime Ministers in charge of related fields, other ministers, the Governor of the State Bank, and the Government Inspector General also took part in the session.

At the end of the session, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc clarified related issues and answered lawmakers’ questions.

Public Security Ministry: All 39 dead victims in Essex lorry are Vietnamese

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and UK police announced that all 39 victims found dead in a container truck in Essex, the northeast of London, UK, on October 23, are Vietnamese.

The Ministry of Public Security said the victims were from Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Thua Thien – Hue.

On November 7, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc conveyed his profound condolences to families of the 39 victims.

Ten-month industrial production index rises 9.5%

The index of industrial production (IIP) for the first 10 months of this year increased by 9.5% over the same period last year.

The manufacturing-processing sector recorded growth of 10.8%.

Activities mark 102nd anniversary of the Russian October Revolution

A wide variety of activities were held in Hanoi to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (November 7, 1917 – 2019).

Notably, on November 7, a delegation of authorities in Hanoi laid flowers at the statue of Vladimir Ilych Lenin in Chi Lang Park.

Exhibition showcases fine art works by typical Asian artists

An exhibition, displaying fine art works by leading Asian artists, opened at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA), in Hanoi.

The event features 81 works by 27 artists from 13 Asian countries and territories including: Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The eight Vietnamese artists participating in the exhibition are Dang Xuan Hoa, Tran Luu Hau, Le Quang Ha, Do Hoang Tuong, Ta Quang Bao, Le Lang Luong, Khong Do Tuyen and Tran Van An.

Nguyen Quang Hai and Park Hang-seo named winners at AFF Awards Night 2019

Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and coach Park Hang-seo of the Vietnam men’s national team were named the AFF Player of the Year (Men) and the AFF Coach of the Year (Men) at the AFF Awards Night 2019.

Nguyen Quang Hai played an indispensable role in Vietnam winning the 2018 AFF Cup trophy, making the last four at the 2018 Asian Games and qualifying for the 2019 Asian Cup quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Park Hang-seo beat Malaysia coach Tan Cheng Hoe to claim the honour of AFF Coach of the Year.

Vietnam ICT Investment Forum 2019 opens in Quang Ninh

The annual Vietnam ICT Investment Forum 2019 opened in Ha Long City, in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The event was attended by a number of domestic and foreign associations, businesses and investors in the field of information technology and communications.
