Built at an estimated cost of VND2.5 trillion (US$119 million), the construction will cover 2km in length and 53-57m in width.

A total of 35 offices and 608 households have had to relocate to make space for the new road.

The city has focused on building the three belt roads as part of its efforts to improve transport infrastructure.

Ring Road No. 3, linking Phap Van and Thang Long bridge, was opened to traffic last year, easing pressure on the east-west route.
