This recognition is not only an achievement for BUV but also contributes to the implementation of Viet Nam’s National Digital Transformation Strategy and the Education Digital Transformation Programme until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
To earn this distinction, BUV outperformed many leading Asian institutions such as Hong Kong (China) Polytechnic University (ranked among the world’s Top 100 by QS World University Rankings 2025), Singapore Polytechnic (Singapore University of Social Sciences), and City University of Hong Kong, renowned for its pioneering e-learning initiatives.
Founded and organised by Terrapinn, EDUtech Asia is an annual award that recognises excellence in education and technology. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the Asia-Pacific, attracting hundreds of initiatives from top universities, research institutes, and technology enterprises. With stringent criteria and an international panel of experts, EDUtech Asia is widely considered a benchmark for innovation in higher education across the region.
In the AI Innovation in Education category, entries were evaluated on creativity, practical impact, and scalability of AI applications in teaching, learning, and university governance.

Professor Rick Bennett, Vice-Rector and Vice-President of BUV, affirmed that rather than being hesitant or restrictive, the university views AI as an inevitable tool and has pioneered a scientific evaluation system to integrate AI transparently and responsibly into academia.
This forward-looking approach has paved the way for BUV to be honoured in the AI Innovation in Education category. By doing so, BUV equips its students with essential digital skills to thrive in the global labour market, where AI is seen as a vital enabler—rather than a barrier. By integrating AI responsibly into teaching and governance, BUV is not only preparing its students for the global labour market but also positioning Viet Nam as a leader in digital innovation in higher education.
