The event saw the attendance of leaders of ministries, central agencies, provinces and cities in the region as well as experts and scientists.
As a region of crucial importance to the politics, socioeconomics, defence and security of the country, the Red River Delta has received special attention from the Politburo, which has issued various resolutions on the region’s development.
In recent years, the Red River Delta has recorded many achievements and maintained its role as one of the country’s two economic engines.
At the workshop, participants analysed the bottlenecks that need to be resolved to foster industrial and urban development in the Red River Delta, as well as provided forecasts about domestic and international impacts on the region.
On that basis, recommendations were made on planning, mechanisms and policies so that industrial and urban development will become an important driver of regional socioeconomic development.
Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Duy Hung stated that the outcome of the workshop will be synthesised to formulate policies and orientations on the development of the Red River Delta in the future.
