Vietnam Vovinam Association and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST) will jointly hold the event, which is expected to draw the participation of more than 200 martial artists from over 20 countries and territories, said Hai.

According to Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City DCST Mai Ba Hung, the event will be a good chance for Vietnam to promote the country’s image and traditional martial arts to friends worldwide, adding that the municipal sports agencies will create favourable conditions to successfully organise the event.

Vovinam, established in 1938, has become popular in over 40 countries and territories around the world.
