About 100 excellent trade union presidents representing 1,000 trade union presidents at the grassroots level were commended at the event in recognition of their contributions to worker movements and trade union activities over the past five years.
General Luong Cuong, Politburo member and Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, appreciated the results of worker movements and trade union activities over the past five years, noting that the army has seen more outstanding trade union presidents.
They have contributed to mobilising trade union members and workers to participate in emulation movements to work more effectively and devise more initiatives at work.
They have also organised many conferences with employees to address employees’ problems and recommendations in a timely manner as well as to strengthen solidarity among units.
General Luong Cuong expressed his belief that the trade union presidents would continue to promote their role and share experiences with others for stronger trade unions in the army.
