The Congress heard a report on the results of the first meeting, of the 13th Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee. The Conference elected 31 members of the Presidium; the President and four Vice Presidents.
Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the 12th VWU, was re-elected as President of the 13th VWU, for the 2022-2027 tenure. The four Vice Presidents includes Ton Ngoc Hanh, Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Tran Lan Phuong and Do Thi Thu Thao.
In her closing speech, President of the VWU Ha Thi Nga, highlighted the significance of the event, saying that this is an important political event and a great festival for Vietnamese women nationwide.

The Congress votes to adopt the amended and supplemented Charter of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
She underscored that the congress adopted important documents and in the next term, the VWU’s Central Committee will continue to closely follow and concretise the Party's guidelines and policies, including the task of socio-economic development and national defence; promote creativity, self-reliance, and solidarity of women; and to take care of and protect their rights and legitimate interests, thus further upholding the fine tradition of Vietnamese women.
Under the sound leadership of the Party, the resolution of the 13th National Women’s Congress will be carried out successfully, thereby creating strong breakthroughs, in the women’s movement and VWU activities, in the coming time, she noted.
The Congress approved the basic targets for the next tenure, including helping 33,500 women’s households escape from the poor or near-poverty status; helping improve the capacity of 17,000 women who are business owners, cooperative managers, or heads of business households; assisting the establishment of 350 cooperatives, with women among their managers; and helping 80 percent of the women and girls, who are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking, to access at least one social support service.
