According to the session’s agenda, at the beginning of the morning session, the National Assembly will listen to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly report on the results of approving the personnel for the Vice Chairman of the Council for Ethnic Affairs, Vice Chairpersons of Committees, and members who are full-time National Assembly deputies working in the Councils and Committees; and proceeded with the procedures to elect the State President.
Previously, on the first day of work (April 6), the National Assembly carried out the personnel procedures to consolidate the leadership apparatus of the 16th National Assembly and its affiliated agencies. Accordingly, Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, and delegate to the 16th National Assembly, was re-elected by the National Assembly to continue serving as Chairman of the 16th National Assembly.
The National Assembly also elected six Vice-Chairpersons of the 16th National Assembly, including Do Van Chien, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Nguyen Hong Dien, Nguyen Doan Anh, and Nguyen Thi Hong; and elected leaders of agencies under the National Assembly.
At the same time, it decided that the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 16th National Assembly would be 18, including: the Chairman of the National Assembly, six Vice-Chairpersons of the National Assembly, and eleven members of the Standing Committee including Lam Van Man, Phan Chi Hieu, Phan Van Mai, Le Tan Toi, Nguyen Dac Vinh, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Huu Dong, Le Thi Nga, Le Quang Manh, Hoang Duy Chinh, and Vu Hai Ha.
