Ba Ria City celebrates its 30th founding anniversary and receives First Class Labour Order

Ba Ria City under Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province marked the 30th anniversary of its establishment and received the Labour Order, First Class at a ceremony held on May 24.

Chairman of Ba Ria City People’s Committee, Tran Thanh Dung, said the city strives to meet the criteria of a first-class urban area by 2025. Accordingly, the city will focus on mobilising resources to develop commerce, services, and industry, creating products with high added value. In addition, the city will foster high-tech agriculture associated with the building of new-style rural areas.

Ba Ria was a small town divided from Chau Thanh District in 1994. In 2012, the provincial administrative and political centre of the province was moved to Ba Ria and Ba Ria City was established in the same year.

Over the past 30 years, the authorities and people of Ba Ria City have promoted the tradition of solidarity to gain important achievements in socio-economic development and improving people’s lives.

By the end of 2023, the city had no poor households according to national standards and only had 0.18% of poor households according to provincial standards.
