Special programme marks 50th anniversary of National Reunification

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025), the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) hosted a special artistic programme entitled “Khuc ca khai hoan” (Triumphant Melody) at the Hanoi Opera House on April 25.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha. The programme consisted of three parts, themed “Hanoi hears the news of victory”, “Marching towards Saigon”, and “The Nation after Reunification”.

Each segment traced an emotional journey, recreating heroic historical milestones and linking a glorious past with the vibrant present of a Vietnam in the midst of renovation, integration, and development.

Alongside meticulously staged performances featuring time-honoured revolutionary songs such as “Me yeu con” (Mother loves child), “Giai phong mien Nam” (Liberating the South), “Tien ve Sai Gon” (Marching to Saigon), “Mua xuan tren thanh pho Ho Chi Minh (Spring in Ho Chi Minh City), “Tien len chien si dong bao” (Forward, Soldiers and Compatriots), and “Nhu co Bac trong ngay vui dai thang” (As if Uncle Ho was present on victory day), the programme also showcased vivid documentary footage.

On the same evening, the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre presented a special chamber symphony concert titled “Song of Victory” at the Au Co Art Centre in Hanoi.

The concert was structured in three parts: “Aspiration for Peace”, “Marching to the Front”, and “Welcoming the Spring of Victory”. Familiar songs such as “Vi mien Nam” (For the South), “Bai ca hy vong” (Song of Hope), “Tinh ca” (Love Song), “Ho Chi Minh dep nhat ten Nguoi” (Ho Chi Minh – The Most Beautiful Name), and “Chao em co gai Lam Hong (Greetings to You, Lam Hong Girl), were brought to life with a fresh spirit through the unique fusion of traditional folk instruments and modern symphonic arrangements.
