In her opening speech, Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Secretary of Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, reviewed the heroic historical tradition of the Party Committee, army and people of Ben Tre province.
She noted with pleasure that after 50 years since its liberation, from a land that suffered much pain from war, Ben Tre province has gradually risen strongly and achieved many important achievements in all fields.
In particular, in 2024, Ben Tre province achieved outstanding results, which can be seen through impressive figures. Accordingly, for the first time, the province achieved an import-export turnover of over 2.2 billion USD, of which exports reached 1.75 billion USD; State budget revenue reached 6,632.9 billion VND.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the PCC Commission for Communication, Education, and Mass Mobilisation highly appreciated the efforts made by the provincial Party Committee and authorities in stabilising political situation, maintaining security and order, developing the socio-economy, and caring for the spiritual life of the people.
He stressed that these results demonstrate the locality’s determination in leadership, solidarity, consensus and unanimity, which are important foundations for sustainable development.
He asked the province to make further efforts to realise the Party and State’s policies on caring for national contributors, reducing poverty, and building new-style rural areas.
He expressed his belief that, with the heroic tradition of the Dong Khoi land, as well as solidarity, unanimity, the spirit of innovation and the strong determination of the local Party Committee, authorities and people, Ben Tre province will reap greater development achievements in the coming time.
At the ceremony, Ben Tre provincial authorities presented the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Award to 19 outstanding individuals in the fields of medicine, literature and arts, education and training.
