This served as an occasion for the Viet Nam Youth Federation at all levels — including its officials, members, and young people — to reflect on the organisation’s glorious traditions. It was also an opportunity to further promote patriotism, a spirit of solidarity, a proactive and volunteer-oriented mindset, creativity, the will to strive for progress, and the aspiration to contribute among successive generations of youth.
Throughout the city’s development, generations of federation officials, members, and young people have consistently upheld traditions of solidarity, volunteerism, and creativity. By implementing numerous practical movements and initiatives, they have contributed to building a city that is civilised, modern, and compassionate.
The Secretariat of the Viet Nam Youth Federation in the city has launched an intensive campaign for 2026 themed “For the Poor”. The Standing Committee of the HCMC Viet Nam Youth Federation has requested that its affiliated chapters identify and provide timely support to members, young people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups through practical initiatives and projects.
At the same time, they were encouraged to mobilise social resources and connect with organisations, individuals, and businesses to join in these support efforts. This initiative aims to foster a spirit of solidarity, compassion, and social responsibility, while contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction within the city.
Additionally, a “Youth and Traffic Culture” festival has been organised to raise awareness and promote compliance with traffic laws among Youth Union members, Viet Nam Youth Federation members, young people, and the general public. The event also seeks to highlight the pioneering role of the youths in advocating for and encouraging the community to build a safe, civilised, and responsible traffic culture.
Through this event, every Youth Union member, association member, and young person is encouraged to continue acting as a proactive, exemplary leader in upholding the law, while actively advocating among friends and family to foster a safe and civilised culture of road safety.
To provide additional resources and facilitate the work of these teams, the organisers presented sets of equipment for traffic safety coordination to the youth rapid-response teams during today’s programme.
Over the two-day event, the organising committee rolled out a variety of practical and meaningful initiatives, including: traditional cultural displays, interactive booths, and games; a celebratory group performance featuring 3,000 Youth Union members and young people from across the city; meet-and-greet sessions with prominent beauty queens, artists, and athletes; recognition of outstanding youth leaders for the 2021–2026 period; the distribution of 200 gift packages, worth a total of 300 million VND, to disadvantaged youth in the city; and a youth music festival.
The organising committee also unveiled a “Digital Map for Tidal Flooding Response in Ho Chi Minh City”, developed by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. This initiative is designed to provide early warnings about flooded areas, helping residents take proactive measures. It also leverages the proactive, pioneering role of young people across 168 wards, communes, and special administrative units in updating information on local flooding conditions.
