In his speech, Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee Hoang Duy Chinh emphasised that the name Bac Kan officially appeared in documents in the 17th century. Bac Kan is one of the localities with an important political and military position in the north of the country.
During the revolutionary process, Bac Kan was a province located in the Viet Bac liberated zone. During the resistance war against French colonialism, Bac Kan was chosen by the Party Central Committee as the location for building a safe zone.
During the 125 years of formation and development, the people of Bac Kan have built valuable traditions of diligence and indomitability in the fight to protect their homeland and country.
In 2024, the province’s economic growth rate reached 6.3%; GRDP per capita reached more than 57 million VND; forest coverage was over 73%, the highest in the country; high school graduation rate was 97.4%; the rate of people participating in health insurance reached 97%; the poverty reduction rate was 2.49%.
The province has 1 district-level unit completing the construction of new rural areas, while 28 communes and 74 villages have met new rural standards. The province has more than 230 OCOP products, 199 of which have achieved 3-star certification...
