Halfway through the period, the province has exceeded 7 targets, met 2 targets and is working to achieve another 18 targets among the 29 targets set at the start of the period.
In the first two years of the current tenure, Bac Ninh was one of the country’s best-performing provinces and cities, ranking ninth in economic output, first in industrial production, third in income per capita, second in export-import and sixth in attracting foreign investment.
Besides the positive results, the Bac Ninh Party Committee also pointed out several drawbacks, such as the limited capacity of some Party organisations, unstable economic growth and strong reliance on the foreign sector.
The provincial Party Committee estimated that 18 targets are likely to be achieved and exceeded, while the realisation of the remaining nine will face difficulty.
However, Bac Ninh expressed its determination to fulfil all the set targets to build a civilised, modernised and culturally rich locality.
The Bac Ninh Party Committee also decided to carry out the goal of Bac Ninh meeting the criteria of a first-tier city by 2025 and becoming a centrally-governed city by 2030.
