Ban Gioc listed among world’s top 21 most beautiful waterfalls

Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the most famous destinations in Cao Bang Province, has been listed among the 21 most beautiful waterfalls in the world by US travel magazine Travel+Leisure.

Travel+Leisure selected 21 of the most beautiful and wonderful waterfalls from around the world to introduce to readers.

“It's hard to explain exactly why waterfalls are so enchanting, but there's no denying their effect,” noted the magazine.

Ban Gioc Waterfall in Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang, is considered like a fairyland destination with its majestic natural scenery. It has been known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam and one of the largest natural waterfalls in Southeast Asia.

According to Travel+Leisure magazine, Ban Gioc Waterfall encompasses a series of cascades that straddle the border between China and Vietnam. In a stunning show of power and grandeur, water flows endlessly through pools, down tiers, and over cliffs in a unique horseshoe shape.

Surrounding the waterfall is a poetic natural landscape. Travellers can enjoy fresh and cool air, along with lush green grass, primeval forests, and a rich and diverse animal and plant ecosystem.

Some of the most interesting and attractive activities for tourists at Ban Gioc Waterfall are trekking through the forest to immerse themselves in the vast majestic mountains and forests, learning about the locals’ lives, and enjoying local cuisine.

In addition, visitors will also experience a series of unique activities such as rafting to see waterfalls and exploring Nguom Ngao Cave, the Pac Bo relic site, and Truc Lam Ban Gioc Phat Tich Pagoda.
