The opening of the three new branches, located in Phu Nhuan District, District 1 and District 6, has raised the lender’s total number of branches nationwide to 117, 12 of them being in Ho Chi Minh City.
The three new branches will operate following a new model, aiming to provide customers with the best services in the banking industry including point of sale (POS) payment, internet banking and other card-based services.
The bank targets that the three new branches in Vietnam’s largest city will acquire combined assets worth VND6 trillion (US$288 million) in the next three years.
BIDV Vice President Pham Duc An said the opening of the new Ho Chi Minh City branches will improve the bank’s capacity to offer local customers high-quality services at competitive prices.
On the same day, an awards ceremony was held at the bank’s general headquarters in Hanoi to grant one special prize, four first prizes and 12,800 other prizes to clients who won the lucky draw during the bank’s promotional programme.
The special prize went to Bui Hai Phuong in Hanoi, who will receive either a Toyota Camry car, 24 taels of SJC gold, or a savings card worth VND1.2 billion (US$57,600).
