The event was jointly organised by the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and the three provinces of Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Tay Ninh, with the participation of many major Korean corporations such as GS, SK, Hanwha Energy, and Hyundai.
Delivering the opening remarks, Nguyen Thi Thai Binh, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Viet Nam in the RoK, emphasised that the conference marks a practical and effective step in implementing the outcomes of the state visit to the RoK by Party General Secretary To Lam last month.
According to Nguyen Thi Thai Binh, Viet Nam and the RoK have become each other’s leading economic partners in many sectors since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership. Participating in this Viet Nam–RoK Economic Cooperation Promotion Conference, the three provinces of Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Tay Ninh each hold strategic positions and boast substantial potential for cooperation.

At the conference, leaders of the people’s committees of Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Tay Ninh introduced the provinces’ strategic locations, economic development, preferential policies, investment incentives, priority areas, and specific cooperation projects.
Most Korean enterprises and associations expressed high regard for Viet Nam’s development in recent years, particularly improvements in administrative procedures that have facilitated a favourable business environment and sustainable growth, thereby contributing to the comprehensive strategic partnership. Many enterprises noted that not only have large Korean corporations such as Samsung, LG, GS, and SK been successful in Viet Nam, but small and medium-sized enterprises have also achieved significant results, and are even considering Viet Nam as an important gateway for Korean businesses to expand globally.
Delegates also acknowledged that despite certain challenges such as the complexity of administrative procedures, legal regulations, and limited mutual cultural understanding, the potential and prospects for cooperation remain substantial.
Delivering the closing remarks, Ambassador Vu Ho highly appreciated the close coordination among localities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Viet Nam in the RoK in organising this event.
According to Ambassador Vu Ho, the parties’ coordination and efforts to promote cooperation in key areas such as the digital economy, innovation, high technology, and clean energy align well with global trends.
He further stressed that small and medium-sized enterprises — the backbone of economic activities — also need to be given attention, encouragement, and support. Ambassador Vu Ho expressed his belief that with the joint efforts of the high-level leadership of both countries and the prompt, active, and effective engagement of localities and ministries, Viet Nam–RoK cooperation will continue to flourish, strengthening the close ties between the peoples of the two countries.
As part of the conference, a networking seminar was also held to connect Quang Tri Province with Hanwha Energy Group and Tay Ninh Province with GS Group.
