After activity was restored on January 25, the border gate officials began to disinfect vehicles and notify the Chinese side in order to speed up the clearance of goods.

Measures were also taken to prevent congestion at the border gates and facilitate the export of goods.

On the first day of resumed activity, 40 vehicles were cleared at Chi Ma while the number at Tan Thanh was just three.

The reason for such a low capacity was that China conducted inspection on all agricultural goods from Vietnam, prolonging the time required for completing procedures.

Vietnamese officials at Tan Thanh are working with Chinese authorities so as to best facilitate Vietnamese enterprises in exporting their goods through the border gate.
